Weekly Blog #3

Saturday 25 November 2017

Hello Everyone, welcome to the Weekly blog #3 about The Six Dragons development.

Monday

This week started with a bit of pressure to have a more polished build for Patrons next week, while the wise thing would be to just polish stuff, I had some thoughts about the 3rd class Tree, that I wanted to push later in the development, but… it would help a lot implementing it now, and many abilities would fit better in this Tree than the Wizard or Warrior so I started working on this.

This class is Cleric! And with the addition of this class, the combinations that can be achieved our countless, you can spend your AP (ability points) as you wish and make the gameplay as you like, and if you don’t like something, just reset all the trees and start all over again. For starters the Reset Abilities functionality will be easy to use and maybe not cost anything, just for testing purposes, later on there will be a cost and maybe an item requirement to do so.

Tuesday

Tuesday was a special day and I took a break to celebrated name-day of my girl, she also asked to be a character on the game and she even came up with a story twist about it, which is a good one! We’ll see about that…

Had 1-2 hours before and after work and kept going with the implementation of Cleric ability tree.

It is now crucial to have a good interface for it, so it is time to rework on the UI, which as you will read later in this blog post, it came out really well. Only had time to implement the basic graphics on a couple of menus to start experimenting with colors/opacity etc.

Nothing else on Tuesday, we had a lot of fun and it was really needed to take a small break.

Wednesday/Thursday/Friday

Wednesday as the rest of the week is all about the UI (User Interface), Character Menu now has the Stats of the player in it, and will add attributes etc. at the same menu, the ability Tree now has the skills and the requirements to get to the Ultimate, Leveling and notifications completely changed, and the best part is the Diablo-like Action bar with the Health and Mana orbs. This allows having a more clean Interface overall.

Saturday

Today I started my day early to write this blog and keep going with the development, I’m planning to refine and finish the UI so I can implement as many abilities as I can next week before the Patreon build goes live!

That’s it guys and girls! Hope you liked this Blog and I would like suggestion/comments to make it better! Find me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook.

Have a nice Weekend!
